La pieza exig\u00eda la libertad de las personas presas pol\u00edticas en Cuba, Nicaragua y Venezuela, en el marco de la IV Cumbre CELAC-UE.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>La valla llevaba el mensaje: \u201cCada persona encarcelada por defender los derechos humanos en Cuba, Nicaragua y Venezuela representa una promesa incumplida de la democracia. \u00bfHasta cu\u00e1ndo?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acompa\u00f1ada por la imagen de un hombre encarcelado y las banderas de los tres pa\u00edses, la valla buscaba recordar a los representantes de los Estados miembros de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribe\u00f1os (CELAC) y de la Uni\u00f3n Europea (UE) reunidos en Santa Marta, la urgente necesidad de abordar la falta de democracia en la regi\u00f3n. Sin embargo, fue desmontada en menos de 24 horas por orden de la Alcald\u00eda de Santa Marta, en cumplimiento de supuestas directrices que proh\u00edben la exhibici\u00f3n de mensajes \u201cde contenido pol\u00edtico\u201d durante la cumbre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Esta decisi\u00f3n vulnera nuestro derecho a la libertad de expresi\u00f3n y limita la posibilidad de denunciar las violaciones a los derechos humanos en estos tres pa\u00edses, precisamente en un espacio que se presenta como un foro de di\u00e1logo sobre democracia, cooperaci\u00f3n y derechos      }        });      }    <\/script>    \n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 2023 ocurri\u00f3 un hecho similar en Buenos Aires (Argentina), cuando, en v\u00edsperas de la Cumbre de la CELAC, tambi\u00e9n fue retirada una valla instalada por nuestra organizaci\u00f3n que exig\u00eda el restablecimiento de la democracia en Cuba y Nicaragua.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la IV Cumbre CELAC-UE, que se celebra del 7 al 10 de noviembre en Santa Marta, se abordan temas clave como la triple transici\u00f3n (energ\u00e9tica, digital y ambiental), la equidad de g\u00e9nero, la seguridad alimentaria y el fortalecimiento de la cooperaci\u00f3n birregional. Todo ello ocurre mientras Cuba, Nicaragua y Venezuela contin\u00faan marcadas por la represi\u00f3n y el encarcelamiento de quienes defienden los derechos humanos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Solo hasta finales de octubre de 2025, las organizaciones de la sociedad civil documentaban 749 personas presas pol\u00edticas en Cuba (de acuerdo con <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/justicia11j\/status\/1982176018514215376\">Justicia 11J<\/a>), 77 personas en Nicaragua (<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MPresasPresosNi\/status\/1984006712781893977?s=20\">Mecanismo para el Reconocimiento de Personas Presas Pol\u00edticas<\/a>), y 875 en Venezuela (<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ForoPenal\/status\/1983362232332272032?s=20\">Foro Penal<\/a>). Estas cifras reflejan la magnitud del cierre de los espacios democr\u00e1ticos y la persistencia de graves violaciones a los derechos humanos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asimismo, el Parlamento Europeo, en una <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/doceo\/document\/TA-10-2025-0221_ES.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">resoluci\u00f3n<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reciente sobre la estrategia pol\u00edtica de la Uni\u00f3n para Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe, reafirm\u00f3 la importancia de la cooperaci\u00f3n birregional y conden\u00f3 el debilitamiento democr\u00e1tico en estos tres pa\u00edses, a los que describi\u00f3 como algunos de los reg\u00edmenes m\u00e1s autoritarios del mundo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Desde Raza e Igualdad denunciamos esta censura y reafirmamos nuestro compromiso con la libertad de expresi\u00f3n, la justicia y la democracia.
