João Pedro (he/him) serves as an Program Officer for the project to Combat Religious Racism, integrated into Race and Equality’s Brazil Program. His work involves collaborating with human rights defenders, promoting religious freedom, and strengthening advocacy capacity at national and international levels. He aims to efficiently and technically convey concerns to the highest levels of human rights guarantees.
João Pedro is a lawyer with a degree from UFRGS, where he also completed his master’s degree in Sociology. His professional trajectory is marked by activism, academic research, and institutional experience. He worked in the Chamber of Deputies in Brasília, managing a parliamentary office, drafting laws, and defending human rights in their entirety.
